Bareboat Charter Crinan Yacht Charters
Crinan - the ideal base for a West Coast cruise
In 2018, we established Crinan Yacht Charters to take a personal approach to the bareboat charter of Pepe - a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 32. We had previously chartered Pepe out with a well respected charter agent at Ardfern marina.

Equipment
Set up to make cruising a pleasure
Pepe is a very well equipped Jeanneau SO 32.

-
Sails: Sparcraft in-mast reefing, upgraded outhaul car and new mainsail 2018 has made her bullet proof. The upgraded bi-radial genoa from 2013 is also a significant improvement on the standard issue Jeanneau sail. In addition a cruising chute is available (extra charge) for adventurous folks with the necessary experience.
-
Headroom: She was built in 2003, and this particular design has notably better headroom than the 32.2 that preceded her and the 32i that Jeanneau introduced shortly after. 6'2" in main saloon and 6' plus in forecabin and aft cabin.
Dinghy/Outboard
High quality dinghy that's
easily carried
If you've landed somewhere magical (like here at the Cairns of Coll), there's nothing more miserable than lugging a 40kg dinghy 50 yards up the beach! Pepe therefore is equipped with an Avon roundback plus Honda outboard.
When the crew needs a break
A wide choice of places to visit
When crew or weather is against another day of sailing, Pepe's canal licence allows you to come back into the canal for a few nights and enjoy some peace and quiet.
The canal itself is a peaceful place to recover, with the Michelin recommended Crinan hotel providing excellent locally sourced seafood.
The Moine Mhor National nature reserve is right by the canal for bird-watchers.
Very nearby are some fascinating sites of archaeological and historical interest: e.g. Dunadd (iron age fort), Carnassarie castle, Nether Largie standing stones.

Planning your trip
Personalized Approach
If you're not already familiar with what the west coast can offer, we'd be delighted to offer suggestions. If you like finding secluded anchorages, then there are literally hundreds within cruising range. On the other hand, there are plenty of whisky distilleries to visit. If you prefer the comforts of a marina then we can help suggest possible itineraries. If you've got the time, then Pepe's canal licence also allows you to use the Caledonian canal, which opens up some interesting options.
Internal Layout
Pepe's offers two excellent double cabins
The layout on the Sun Odyssey 32 offers a very generous double aft cabin, with standing room, locker and shelves. The forecabin also has standing headroom, and an infill cushion to form a generous double. Conversely, the saloon berths are not so suitable for tall adults.
